Hochul touts $2B in tax relief for New York property owners

New York is distributing $2 billion in tax relief through the School Tax Relief (STAR) program to eligible homeowners and seniors. Most homeowners will receive checks between $350 and $600, while seniors may get $700 to $1,500. Long Island will receive about $660 million, the Hudson Valley $461 million, and Western New York $168 million. Rebates will be issued before school tax deadlines, rolling out through summer and fall.
